On January 29th, the Starlight Sharing Foundation and Kwandong University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the main building of Kwandong University in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, to strengthen ties with Laotian students. The signing ceremony was attended by officials from the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and representatives from the Champasak Technology Development Center, further strengthening the bilateral cooperation.
The Starlight Sharing Foundation operates a Korean language school in Laos, supporting young people seeking study and employment in Korea. It also works to build a network of connections between international students and workers in Korea. Through this agreement, Kwandong University plans to provide Korean language education, study abroad programs, and industry-linked programs to Laotian students.
The visit to Korea by the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the Champasak Technology Development Center is seen as a sign of hope for revitalized bilateral exchanges. In particular, collaborative programs focused on manufacturing, tourism, and education are expected to be reviewed, and practical job creation opportunities are also expected to be discussed.
Kwandong University stated, “We hope that this model, which promotes education and industry linkage together, will help Laotian youth choose their career paths and advance into the international market,” while a Starlight Sharing Foundation official emphasized, “The structure that combines local Korean language education in Laos with a linkage platform in Korea will produce results.”

The school also expressed its expectation that “through the signing of this agreement, a three-way cooperation structure will be established between Laotian government agencies, educational institutions, and private organizations, which will further invigorate the influx of Laotian talent into Korea and exchanges between the two countries.”
