Hello! This is Starlight Story.
Today, I will tell you about the visit to Laos by Songgok University and Starlight Sharing Foundation from October 14th to 18th.
Songgok University and Exchange with Laotian Youth
First, Songgok University is located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea, and is actively promoting exchanges between Korean and Laotian youth.
This visit was an extension of that, and it was an even more special time to support the dreams of Laotian youth.
Collaboration between Starlight Sharing Foundation and Daosole
This trip was possible because of the Starlight Sharing Foundation.
Currently, Starlight Sharing Foundation, together with Daosole Corporation established in Laos, is actively supporting cooperation between Laos and Korea in various fields such as education, tourism, industry, and trade.
And! There was something really important during this visit.
That is, the signing of a business agreement (MOA) between Daosole and the Champasak Technology Development Center in Laos.
This agreement is a meaningful promise to help Laotian youth achieve their dreams and create a brighter future.
Now, let’s start Songgok University’s warm and special trip to Laos~
Day 1: First step in Laos, arriving in Vientiane!
After a 5 hour and 15 minute journey, we finally arrived in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
The moment I got off the plane and stepped into the airport, I could feel the warm and exotic atmosphere unique to Laos.

First meeting, and a greeting full of excitement
The excitement of the first greeting at the airport! I could feel the warmth of Laos that I had imagined while exchanging greetings with Laotian officials for the first time.
Even the small greetings felt sincere, so I looked forward to the upcoming schedule.
Day 2: Exploring Laotian culture, Vientiane and That Luang Temple
We greeted the sunny morning with the sound of birds.
The journey from Vientiane to Champasak allowed me to feel the essence of Laotian culture.
In particular, Patuxai (Independence Monument) and That Luang were special places where I could experience Laotian history and culture.

Patuxai is an independence monument built to commemorate the French invasion in the 1960s, and is now a landmark of Laos.

Wa That Luang Temple
Wa That Luang Temple is a golden temple in Vientiane, and its appearance is even more impressive on a clear day.

Special moments in Laos: Tasty restaurants, Tang Yuan Resort, and Champasak itinerary
We visited the view restaurant and Tang Yuan Resort where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Laos.
We were able to enjoy local food in the open scenery.
Local food such as fried rice, Tom Yum Kung, and fried fish really captivated our taste buds.

In particular, the leisurely atmosphere and beautiful nature I felt while eating on a boat on the Nam Neung River was truly healing in itself.
This is a place I definitely recommend if you go to Laos!

Day 3: Visit Champasak Technology Development Center & Wat Phu Temple
Finally! Today is an important day for the signing of the MoU (MoU) between Dao Sole and Laos Champasak Technology Development Center.
To visit Champasak Technology Development Center, we took a domestic flight from Vientiane to Pakse, which took about 1.5 hours.
As soon as we arrived in Pakse, we had a heart-to-heart talk with the staff of Champasak Technology Development Center who warmly welcomed us,
and thanks to their passion, our expectations for technology education in Laos have grown.

However, I feel uneasy when I see the old school facilities everywhere.
I feel a strong desire to actively help Laotian youth study in a better environment.

A precious meeting, a commemorative photo!
In the photo, the president of Songgok University, professors and staff of the Champasak Technology Center, Daosole staff, and even the chairman of the Starlight Sharing Foundation are all gathered in one place.

At this moment when the future is even more anticipated
I am already looking forward to the bright future that each of us will create in our own positions.
I sincerely hope that everyone will continue to do great things in the future!

Visiting Wat Phu Temple in Champasak
After finishing an important schedule, I visited Wat Phu Temple near Champasak, Laos.

Wat Phu Temple, full of grandeur and mystery
Wat Phu Temple is a Khmer temple and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.
The temple's grandeur and tranquil atmosphere will leave you in awe.

Every step was impressive, from the elaborate carvings, to the sacred reservoirs, to the unique architecture that blends in with nature.
In particular, I was impressed by the fact that the temples dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva have survived to this day.

A sacred moment with nature
While looking around the temple, I could feel the beauty of ancient culture and nature.
This place, which preserves Laos' traditions and history, is a must-visit when you come to Laos!
Day 4: Visiting the Laos Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare
A warm welcome! A meaningful time!!
At this place, I promised cooperation by taking commemorative photos with Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Vaikham Kattinha, Deputy Minister Anuson Kamsingsavat, Director of the Technology Development Agency Boonma Sittisom, and key figures of the technology development organization.

We look forward to the continued strong support and cooperation of the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare for the Champasak Technology Development Center!

Day 5: Regrettable Return
The last morning has finally arrived.
Feeling the refreshing air of Vientiane, Songgok University and Starlight Sharing Foundation began preparing to return home.
The moment of parting is always regrettable, but the emotions and warmth we received during this journey will remain in our memories for a long time.
This warm and special time with Laos was truly precious.
Just imagining the two countries joining forces to create a better future for the youth makes me excited and proud.
Republic of Korea X Laos
Dreaming of a hopeful future for the two countries...
Through this visit, I was able to feel the strong bond between Starlight Sharing Foundation and Laos once again.
I sincerely hope that the dreams of Laotian youth will bloom even more brightly through the business agreement between Songgok University and Champasak Technology Development Center
This concludes the Laos visit~
The journey in Laos will continue in the future!
That was the Starlight Story!
